So I was inspired about a month ago when I photographed this cutting board at a party that I decided to try to photograph a 'cutting board series' of photos. While making this yummy sandwich for Ben's lunch the other morning I thought it would be a good addition to the cutting board collection. As I've demonstrated before early morning photography and I don't always mesh as easily as I would like. I'm the type of person who - for some reason - thinks 6am is the perfect time to clean the bathroom, reorganize a cupboard or in this case try some artistic photography.

I couldn't get the angle right when the cutting board was on the counter so putting it on the kitchen chair - seemed at 6:30am the next logical solution. I stood on another chair to get the right angle, all of my concentration was on this yummy sandwich that I didn't even notice Ziggy coming near until he was in the frame! Too funny!

As far as the 'cutting board series' goes I haven't been able to doublicate the randomness of the first cutting board photo in any of my resent attempts...I think I need to photograph other people cooking so it wont be as intentional. We'll see.

Adventures of the CatNipCarrot continue

Aren't all carrots better with a little catnip inside

This cat toy has been though a lot but still remains one of Annie's favorites. As you may remember it used have feathers where leaves on a real carrot would be, those have since been removed mostly by the dog. Ziggy likes to steal Annie's toys because he knows they aren't his. Last time I found it in is mouth the carrot was so slobbery and the feathers hardly looked like leaves anymore.

I dumped out - the now soggy cat nip - cut off the remaining feathers and threw it in the washing machine. It's now been thrown into Annie's portion of the house with fresh cat nip and a not so doggy like smell.

Joe's Graduation

My brother Jordan graduated high school on June 3, 2008. My mom, grandma, brother Tim and I flew to Boise for his party Monday night and graduation the next day. I cant believe he's so grown up, and going to college next year at U of I!

Summer BBQ Fun

Photos from Kate & Jen's "welcome to Portland BBQ" and in typical Portland fashion it rained most of the time.

But it didn't stop the fun, we are happy to have Kate & Jen living so close to us now.
